What does a French man do for a date at home?

What does a French man do for a date at home?

Like the actor Jean Gabin said “T’as d’beaux yeux, tu sais” (you know you have gorgeous eyes) in the movie “Quai des Brumes”.

Wait… let’s start from the beginning. First, the French don’t “date”…

My hope is, using whatever of this you find helpful, you’ll host a damn fine night and at the end of your night you and your date will both be fully sated, naked and pleased.

1. Dress like a man

Stay away from clothes that make it seem like you didn’t put any effort into dressing. Forget about our nice handmade bowtie or tie and choose a casual pants, shirt and match a braided belt for example (they are always in style!). Use the same colour for your socks

2. Atmosphere

The essential touch of atmosphere is the music that fills the air. Your taste selectively reveals a lot about you. The music you prefer is like a handle, it’s a way of grasping what type of person you are. You’re a House Music person. You’re a Hip-Hop person. You’re a Reggae person. You’re an Africa Music person or a 70's Vietnamese Rock (our favorite) kind of a person. Most importantly, pick music that fits in the background and doesn’t call too much attention to itself. Spin it on your favorite affordable Japanese turntable.

Just a few easy atmospheric touches like candles (candles for men do exist!). You’ve set the stage.

3. A drink?

Choose your drinks carefully. If you're planning to have an unforgettable time at home, then the first thing you'll do is have a drink to inaugurate the start of your night. Homemade cocktails, especially Gin-based are the most appropriate choice, so if you and yours are Gin drinkers, be prepared with a list of easy cocktails to make by yourself. Don’t get too drunk.

4. and some appetisers…

Some things about making a sexy homemade bites should be rather obvious. Like, for instance: Don’t serve any penis-shaped meats or vegetables. In fact, don’t serve any foods that are obvious sexual metaphors, if you can help it. You don’t want your date thinking about sex because their food looks like a dick. Choose simple appetisers such as seafood tins on french baguette.

5. Good Conversation Is Sexy As Fuck

Conversations, like grapes, are best when they’re fluid. Keep that in mind. If you’re drinking wine, the conversation should happen naturally. The key to a good conversation is to focus on the other person. Listen twice as much as you talk. Talk about movies, about the latest Stanley Chow prints or the food culture.

My hope is, using whatever of this you find helpful, you’ll host a damn fine dinner and at the end of your night you and your date will both be fully sated, naked and pleased.
